Vol. 119 No. 14

Council of Europe.

With the permission of the Chair, I wish to make a short announcement.

I take it the House agrees. I have seen the statement. It is not contentious.

The opening date of the second session of the Consultative Assembly of the Council of Europe has been fixed for the 17th July, 1950. Under the provisional rules of procedure of the assembly, proposals made between sessions for the inclusion of items on the agenda must be sent to the president of the assembly at least three months before the opening of the session. Any such proposals must be sponsored in writing by ten representatives. As the assembly will open on the 17th July, the latest date for the submission of proposals is the 17th April.

Members of the Oireachtas who may wish to suggest resolutions for inclusion on the agenda of the assembly should accordingly communicate their suggestions to members of the Irish delegation to the Consultative Assembly as soon as possible.
