Vol. 120 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Garden of Remembrance.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the present position in regard to the garden of remembrance which was to be laid out in the Rotunda Gardens to commemorate the members of the Dublin Brigade of the Irish Republican Army who gave their lives to uphold and maintain the Irish Republic.

Following the receipt of an urgent request by the Rotunda Hospital supported by a strong recommendation from the Minister for Health, the hospital has been granted the temporary use of the site for infant welfare purposes.

So the garden of remembrance has been abandoned at the instance, apparently, of the Rotunda Hospital authorities.

Supported by the Clann na Poblachta Minister for Health.

That is not so. It has not been abandoned.

It has been abandoned.

It has not.

It has all right, and you cannot save your face on it.

The Deputy knows that is not so.
