Vol. 122 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Restrictive Trade Practices.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he has made a recommendation to the Government or reached a decision as to the most satisfactory method of ending undesirable restrictive practices in trade.

I am not yet in a position to make any statement on this matter.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say when it is hoped to be able to give some information to the Dáil on this very important matter?

I cannot say.

Will the Parliamentary Secretary say if any consideration has been given to this matter of restrictive practices operating in connection with the sale of petrol which is one of the most glaring examples of it?

The Deputy is probably aware that petrol was one of the cases which brought these restrictive practices to light. The whole matter is under consideration. I cannot say at this stage when anything will be brought before the Dáil.
