Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the propriety of acquiring the farm of 80 acres at Enagh, Kilkishen, County Clare, recently offered for sale by Mr. James Barron for distribution amongst the congests in that district, has come under the attention of the Land Commission; and, if so, with what result.

Representations have only recently been made to the Land Commission for the acquisition of these lands and these will be considered in due course.

asked the Minister for Lands what steps, if any, have been taken by the Land Commission to acquire the farm of 300 acres from Miss Vere O'Brien, situate at Ballyala, Ennis, which was recently offered for sale by private treaty.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these lands.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether any proceedings have been decided on for the acquisition of the Waller estate, Kilbarron, County Tipperary, North, with a view to the relief of the aggravated congestion in the area.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of the estate in question.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state whether the propriety of acquiring and allotting the bog on the estate of Commander Gore at Aughiska More in or near Lisdoonvarna, County Clare, has come under the attention of the Land Commissioners and whether, in view of the need for an adequate supply of turf for some families in the district, he will make representations to the Land Commission to expedite a decision on the matter.

The proceedings for the acquisition of this bog are almost completed.

Will the Minister be more explicit and say when it is likely to be done?

It is only a matter of taking possession, which will be on the 15th of next month.
