Vol. 124 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Gurteenroe Road Scheme.

Mr. Murphy

asked the Minister for Finance if he is prepared to sanction a minor employment scheme for the completion of the work carried out under a previous scheme in 1947 (Sanction No. 31) for the repair and widening of an accommodation road from the county road to Mr. Michael O'Driscoll's house in the townland of Gurteenroe in view of the fact that the original object of the previous scheme was not achieved and Mr. O'Driscoll's house is still isolated and without any right of way except to people on foot.

When further moneys are available for the relief of unemployment in the area in question, the proposal referred to by the Deputy will receive consideration on its merits in competition with other proposals from the same area.
