Vol. 125 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - N.U.I. Constituent College.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will suggest to the authorities of the National University of Ireland the possibility of setting up a constituent college in or near Dublin in which degree courses can be pursued by students through the medium of Irish, such constituent college to cater for those facilities in respect of which there is at present a demand for expansion.

The answer to the question is in the negative.

Whatever may be the merits of the project suggested by the Deputy, it is clear to my mind that it would not be for the Minister for Finance to take the initiative in this matter.

Can the Minister say whether any financial provision is being made for the expansion of some of the more prominent courses in University College?

Not specifically, as far as I remember. That is a different question.
