Vol. 125 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital for Cahirciveen.

asked the Minister for Health if any efforts are being made to complete the necessary arrangements for the erection of a district hospital at Cahirciveen and if he will state the cause of the delay in the matter.

I am not aware that any undue delay is occurring in completing the necessary arrangements for the erection of a district hospital in Cahirciveen.

On the 26th February last, working drawings and specification for the building work were received from the local authority. Observations on these documents were issued to the local authority on the 20th March and, subject to the acceptance of the recommendations made, they were requested to proceed with the next stage, that is the preparation of the bill of quantities after which tenders could be invited. Observations on the preliminary report on the mechanical installations for the hospital, also received on the 26th February, were issued to the local authority on the 9th March.
