Vol. 126 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Price of Wool.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he will undertake not to fix, or otherwise interfere with, the price of wool during the present year.

The present position is that the maximum prices of raw wool are controlled by the Prices and Charges (Standstill) Order, 1951, made by the previous Administration in December last. The prices now prevailing are, however, considerably less than the maximum prices prescribed by that Order. I am considering whether or not this control should be continued.
