Vol. 126 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Baltinglass Incident.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will state what steps are being taken to have the persons who cut telephone poles and wires in Baltinglass area arrested and charged and what arrangements the Garda Síochána have made to ascertain who the offenders were.

The police have been investigating this matter since last December, but up to the present they have been unable to trace the persons responsible.

Ask Deputy Cogan.

Will the Minister be good enough to ask for some police reports as a result of the investigations they have carried out and will he satisfy himself, as a result of reading these reports, that the Gardaí are not knocking themselves about to find the culprits?

I have asked for a report. If the Deputy wants to get any more information, there are two of his colleagues from whom he can get information.

Is the Minister aware that the chief culprit in this case was shaved by Deputy Flanagan this morning?

Mr. Flanagan

Was what? I did not catch that.
