asked the Minister for Local Government if he will sanction the repair of the roads from the Harrow to Tinnacross and from Boulavogue to the Harrow so that the work may commence without delay.

I understand that a scheme for the improvement of the road from the Harrow to Tinnacross is included in the programme of county road improvement works which the Wexford County Council propose to carry out with the aid of borrowed moneys. The council's proposal to embark on such a programme has been approved in principle. The details of the programme are at present being examined by the Department's technical advisers in consultation with the county engineer.
The selection of the road works to be carried out as part of any particular programme is a matter primarily for the county council. No proposals for the improvement of the road from Boulavogue to the Harrow have been submitted by the county council.
