Vol. 126 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Wexford Drainage Work.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that 15 men have been discharged from drainage work at the Cooltore River near Ferns due to shortage of funds; and, if so, whether he will take steps to remedy this situation immediately so that the work may be completed.

A sum of £1,500 was proposed by the local authority for expenditure on this work and a grant of that amount was allocated. I understand that the full amount of the grant has been expended but I am not aware whether the work has or has not been completed. The preparation and submission of any supplementary proposals is a matter for the county council.
