The Portarlington generating station was the only one using turf in the year ended 31st March, 1951, and it was supplied from Clonsast bog. The cost of production during year ended 31st March, 1951, at Clonsast bog, was 40/6 per ton, and the net price received from the Electricity Board, after adjustment for moisture content, was 39/- per ton.
