Because of the practical difficulties which would arise from the extension of membership of the F.C.A. to persons residing outside the jurisdiction of the State, it is not proposed to amend Defence Force Regulations for the purpose mentioned by the Deputy.
Even if the Minister is not prepared to amend the regulations, could he not issue instructions to ensure that persons resident near the Border would be permitted to join?
