Vol. 128 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballymacarbry Unemployment.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware that 55 council workers have been left off in the Ballymacarbry area, County Waterford; and, if so, whether he is prepared to sanction the scheme for bog development which is at present before his Department so that these men may be re-employed before Christmas.

The Waterford County Council has not yet submitted details of the bog development work referred to, but I understand that such a scheme is being prepared, and that it will be submitted in the near future. Any proposal received will be examined as expeditiously as possible, and a decision conveyed to the county council without delay.
