Vol. 129 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tipperary Drainage Schemes.

asked the Minister for Finance whether he has received repeated applications from the tenants of bogs at (1) Cooleeney Moyne, and (2) Dromard, Moyne, County Tipperary, for the execution of very necessary drainage schemes on both bogs; and, if so, whether any action has been taken and what is the present position.

I cannot trace the receipt of any applications for the drainage of a bog in Cooleeney Moyne. Representations have been made to my office regarding the drainage of a bog in Dromard, and I shall arrange to have that proposal inspected as soon as practicable.

Is it not a fact that representations were made nearly two years ago in respect of Dromard?

As regards Cooleeney, I think representations were made here. I made them myself on a few occasions.

They were made two years ago.

I have no account of it, anyhow. It cannot be traced as far as Cooleeney is concerned. In the case of Dromard it can be traced.
