Vol. 132 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Letting of Turf Banks.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission received complaints concerning delay by the Forestry Division in letting turf banks to tenants on the Woodcroone estate, Emo, Portarlington, County Laoghis, and if he will now state what action he has taken or proposes taking in the matter.

Mr. Lynch

No complaints of the nature referred to have been received, but there were some inquiries from interested parties regarding the lettings on the recently acquired Coolnavarnoge and Coolaghy areas which it is presumed is the area to which the Deputy refers. Arrangements for the letting of banks on this area are at present being made, and those interested have been informed.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that I hold an acknowledgment of the receipt of one complaint dated 4th June? What kind is the Department that it cannot connect up these complaints before a reply of this kind is given here? This is not the first time I have got such a reply. There seems to be some need for reorganisation of the Land Commission or of the Minister's Department.

You should have put that to Deputy Blowick when he was there.
