Vol. 132 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ground Limestone Subsidy Scheme.

asked the Minister for Agriculture how many county committees of agriculture were operating the scheme for subsidising ground limestone when his predecessor liquidated the scheme on 21st December, 1948.

Mr. Walsh

Fifteen.

Is the Minister aware that the county committee of agriculture, of which I am a member, sent deputations to the Minister's predecessor protesting to him against the abolition of the subsidy on ground limestone and imploring him to continue it?

That is a separate question.

Will the Minister say if some steps will be taken to make up even for the two years that were lost in regard to the ground limestone scheme?

That is a separate question.

A separate Minister, too.

And a good job, too.
