Vol. 132 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Cork Building Sites.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he will state the date on which an application from the Cork County Council regarding the proposed acquisition of land at Carrigaline, County Cork, for the erection of 26 houses was received in his Department; and, further, if the application has been dealt with; and, if not, when it is intended to do so.

I received the order on the 24th March last. I hope to make known my decision within the next few weeks.

There has been a delay from last March up to the present time in respect of this. Does the Minister think that is a proper excuse for having such a long delay in dealing with a very important matter?

Even if I were to give the Deputy an assurance that I do, I do not suppose that he will accept it, but I feel that I have.

From my experience of the Minister, knowing him as I do, I could not accept it.
