Vol. 132 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Newport Postal Services.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he is aware that the district served by the post office at Lackamore, Newport, County Tipperary, has only a five-day delivery and whether, in view of the fact that a number of business people require their letters daily, he will consider the feasibility of having a daily delivery in this district.

The provision of a daily delivery in the Lackamore subpost office area will be considered when reorganisation of the postal services in the Limerick head office district is undertaken. I regret it is not possible at this stage to say when this will be done, but undue delay will be avoided if at all possible.
