Vol. 132 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Construction of Weir at Blarney.

asked the Minister for Agriculture whether he has received any objection from a person at Blarney, County Cork, to the erection of a weir by the Fisheries Branch of his Department on the river which flows past this person's residence and business premises; and, if so, if he has satisfied himself that the construction of a weir at this point will not give rise to flooding of the person's property.

Objection was raised by the person referred to in the Deputy's question, but as the weir itself has not been interfered with and as the work carried out, for which the plans were prepared by an engineer on the staff of my Department, does not restrict the flow of the river, the grounds for any such objection are not apparent.
