Vol. 135 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Meath Vocational Education Committee Proposal.

asked the Minister for Education if he is aware that it is proposed by the Meath Vocational Education Committee to erect a vocational school in Oldcastle, and if, in view of the fact that the Gilson Endowed School already supplies adequate facilities for secondary and technical education in that area, he will prohibit this expenditure of public money.

I am aware that the County Meath Vocational Education Committee proposes to provide a vocational school in Oldcastle. The committee has represented to me that a vocational school is needed in this area and having considered their representations and the existing educational facilities there I am not disposed to reject their view in the matter.
