asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what progress has been made towards the provision of an airport at Cork and if it is hoped to have one opened in time for An Tóstal.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Airport Proposal.
A detailed examination is being made in my Department of the nature and extent of the facilities required for an airport at Cork and of the minimum cost at which such facilities could be provided. This examination involves consideration of all suitable sites. It will be completed as quickly as possible. There is no likelihood of the airport being in operation by next April.
