Vol. 136 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Countess Markievicz Memorial.

Mr. A. Byrne

asked the Minister for Finance if it is proposed at an early date to restore the memorial to Countess Markievicz which formerly occupied a place of honour in St. Stephen's Green, Dublin, or if it is proposed to perpetuate her memory through any other form of tablet, building or scholarship.

As the memorial in question was damaged beyond repair it has been decided to replace it by a bronze bust on a site in St. Stephen's Green. The necessary arrangements are being made.
