Vol. 139 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Fish Bonus.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will state (a) the bonus paid by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara and its predecessor on fish in each of the years 1948 to 1951, inclusive; (b) the names of the ports at which such bonus was paid; (c) the total amount of money paid; (d) the varieties of fish on which a bonus was paid and (e) the amount per stone on such bonus.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware that An Bord Iascaigh Mhara pay in certain ports a lump sum per year by way of bonus to certain fishing boats; and, if so, if he will state the name of the port or ports at which such bonus is paid.

With your permission, A Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 45 and 46 together.

I am informed by An Bord Iascaigh Mhara that no payments of the kind mentioned by the Deputy are made by the board or were made in the period referred to by their predecessor, Irish Sea Fisheries Association, Limited. The other parts of the questions do not, accordingly, arise.
