Vol. 141 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions Oral Answers. - Transmission and Delivery of Correspondence.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he will state if his attention has been drawn to a letter from An Ceannaire, Ailtirí na h-Aiséirí, published in the public Press, alleging that (a) correspondence addressed to himand his organisation is opened in transit, and (b) one letter in particular was not transmitted and delivered although posted; and, if so, whether these charges are in part or in whole well founded.

I have seen the letter to which the Deputy refers and can assure him that there is not the slightest foundation for the writer's allegation that correspondence addressed either to him or his organisation is interfered with in any way during transmission by post. If, therefore, the particular letter to which the Deputy refers in the second part of his question was posted, no reason is known why it should not have been delivered in due course.
