Vol. 141 No. 7

Written Answer. - Closing of Post Office.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that a considerable inconvenience has been caused to the residents of the Dermotstown and Delahasey areas, near Balbriggan, by reason of the fact that their post office has been closed for over a year; and, if so, whether he will use his good offices to have alternative postal facilities made available to them.

The sub-post office at Delahasey was closed when the former sub-postmistress resigned on 1st August last and no suitable candidatewas forthcoming to fill the vacancy.

There are three post offices within a three mile radius of the former office. The volume of business transacted at the former office was very small.
