Vol. 142 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Reopening of County Cork Flour Mills.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if his Department has taken any steps for the reopening of Clondulane flour mills and if there are any prospects for the resumption of the industry at Clondulane; and, if not, if he will bring to the notice of intending industrialists the excellent facilities existing at Clondulane for an alternative industry.

As I stated in reply to various earlier questions, I will be prepared to grant to any suitable applicant the necessary licence to undertake flour milling in the Clondulane area. There are, however, no present proposals for the resumption of flour milling there.

Particulars of the facilities availableat Clondulane for the establishment of an alternative industry will be brought to the notice of all interested industrial promoters.
