Vol. 143 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bantry Bay Dredging.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state when it is hoped to send a dredger to Bantry Bay to carry out some very necessary work near the piers.

The pier at Bantry is the property of the Cork CountyCouncil and I have no functions in regard to it.

Is the Parliamentary Secretary aware that the people there are using shovels, buckets and row boats trying to remove the mud at present?

That seems to be a matter for the Cork County Council to deal with.

I understand that the only person who has a dredger at his disposal is the Parliamentary Secretary.

It is proof of their industry, anyway.
