No data are available on the profits of companies incorporated abroad in respect of their operations within the State in 1952. The estimated total implicitly included in certain items in the published tables of national income for that year is obtained by projecting the data for earlier years using certain indicators. Even when the material in question becomes available, it is not considered that the revised estimate of the total, for which the Deputy asks, will attain a sufficient degree of statistical validity to justify its official publication as a separate item. This is also true of many other constituent items of the national income aggregates.
