asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state when the E.S.B. propose extending a supply of current to the area of Derrycastle, Ballina, County Tipperary, and if any progress has been made concerning an extension of current from Portroe to Ballina, County Tipperary.
Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Rural Electrification in Tipperary.
I am informed by the E.S.B. that the Derrycastle area, which includes Ballina, has been considered by the board on a number of occasions for development under the rural electrification scheme but has not so far been selected. The area will be considered again in due course but I am not in a position to state when development is likely to take place. The Deputy will appreciate that the question of the extension of supply from Portroe will not arise until the area has been selected.
