Vol. 145 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Water Supply Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government whether he is aware of the urgent necessity in the carrying through of the water supply schemes at Rossbeigh, Milltown, Caherdaniel and Farranfore; and whether he is now in a position to approve of the Kerry County Council proposals in the matter.

The position as regards the Rossbeigh extension is as indicated in the reply to the Deputy's question of 10th instant.

Contract documents for Milltown water supply scheme have been received in the Department. Before a decision is issued thereon, the sanitary authority has been requested to furnish information as to why an alternative proposal previously considered by them was not being proceeded with.

No proposals in regard to the Caherdaniel water supply have been submitted.

The proposed appointment of a consultant for preparing a water supply scheme for Farranfore has been approved but the consultant has not yet been nominated.
