asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he is aware of the uneasiness which exists among C.I.E. employees at the Inchicore workshops in regard to possible redundancy because of the board's policy of changing from steam engines to diesel engines, and, if so, if he will request the board to ensure that the dieselisation of the railway system will not endanger the employment of the men concerned, or cause their transfer out of Dublin.

I am aware that this matter has been under examination by C.I.E. The board inform me that they have had discussions with the trade unions representing the workers concerned at Inchicore and that the matter is still under consideration.
