Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Kerry Water Schemes.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has received proposals in connection with a water supply scheme for Lixnaw, County Kerry, and if so, what is the present position in the matter, and when tenders will be invited.

Contract documents for this scheme were approved in July, 1951. The sanitary authority's proposals for the acceptance of a tender are awaited.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has received proposals in connection with a new water supply scheme for Castleisland, County Kerry, and, if so, what is the present position in the matter and when tenders will be invited.

Approval in principle to the adoption of a supplementary source for Castleisland water supply together with observations on preliminary proposals for an improvement scheme have issued to the sanitary authority. Their reply is awaited.

I am not in a position to indicate when tenders may be invited.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state whether he has received proposals in connection with a new water supply scheme for the village of Ballyheigue, County Kerry, and, if so, what is the present position in the matter and when work on the scheme is likely to commence.

Approval has been given to the acceptance of a tender by the sanitary authority for the carrying out of Ballyheigue water supply scheme. The local authority has not yet indicated when work is likely to commence.
