Vol. 148 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Road Repair.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the Land Commission are aware that the road at Nevinstown, Cloghran, is in a bad condition and that a number of families find it difficult to reach their homes, and, if so, if they will have the road repaired.

The allotments at Nevinstown were vested in the allottees some years ago and the Land Commission have no responsibility for the upkeep of the road which serves them.

If the repair of this road is beyond the capacity of the allottees it is open to them to apply to the Special Employment Schemes Office for assistance.

One of the reasons why I put down this question was to point out to the Minister and to the Land Commission that this is one of the greatest farces that has been played here. The Land Commission were to make a road when dividing the land. In view of the unsatisfactory nature of the Minister's reply, I would like to raise this matter on the Adjournment.

I will communicate with the Deputy.
