Vol. 148 No. 6

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Water Supply.

asked the Minister for Local Government when water will be turned on in the pipes, which have now been laid for some time, in Blanchardstown and Castleknock.

It is understood that water will soon be available in the pipes at Blanchardstown and Castleknock. Some minor works at the Ballycoolan reservoir are held up by the weather and an exact date cannot be given.

Could the Minister give an indication as to how soon the work will be commenced?

If the Deputy can give me any indication as to when the weather will take up I will reply to his question.

I am hearing that for a long time.

asked the Minister for Local Government when a water and sewerage scheme will be extended to Donabate.

I am not in a position to state when water supply and sewerage schemes will be provided at Donabate.

Outline proposals for the water supply scheme have been approved and the submission of the contract documents is awaited.

Contract documents for the sewerage scheme have been approved, subject to arrangements being completed for the acquisition of the necessary lands.
