Vol. 149 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballyfermot Post Office Facilities.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware of the necessity for the erection of a post office to serve the needs of the people in the Ballyfermot area, Dublin. and, if so, what action is being taken in the matter.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether he is aware that there are over 4,000 families resident in the Ballyfermot area, County Dublin, and that a further extension of the area is proposed, and, if so, if he will arrange for the provision of an additional sub-post office and earlier delivery and later collection of letters in the area.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 15 and 16 together.

I have approved the provision of an additional sub-post office in Ballyfermot and arrangements are being made accordingly.

The question of improving the delivery and collection services in the area is being examined and I shall communicate the result to Deputy Doyle in due course.
