Vol. 154 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tea Export Concessions.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce whether he has seen a report in regard to tea export concessions by India, and what effect these concessions will have on tea prices in this country.

It would appear from the report mentioned by the Deputy that the object of the recent decision to permit the unrestricted export of 1955 season North Indian tea is to secure more remunerative prices for producers. As Tea Importers, Limited, have practically completed their purchases of 1955 season North Indian tea this development will not affect prices in this country.
