Tea (Importation and Distribution) Bill, 1955—from the Seanad.

The Dáil went into Committee to consider an amendment from Seanad Éireann.

Minister for Industry and Commerce (Mr. Norton)

I move that the Dáil agree with the Seanad in the following amendment:—

SECTION 6.

The word "and" inserted at the end of line 26, and the following added:—

(iii) in the case of a body corporate, all the shares are in the beneficial ownership of Irish citizens, and

(iv) the business will be effectively managed and controlled by an Irish citizen or citizens, each of whom normally resides in the State.

This amendment is to meet a point raised by Deputy Lemass.
