Vol. 158 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Vacant Sites.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state (a) the number, and situation, of vacant sites in the possession of the Dublin Corporation, (b) the acreage of each site, and (c) to what use it is proposed to put these sites.

The particulars requested are not available in my Department and I suggest that the Deputy might approach the local authority for the information required.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the present position in regard to the development by the Dublin Corporation of vacant sites at Vicar Street, Bridgefoot Street, Hogan Place and City Quay.

I assume the Deputy is referring to sites for housing purposes.

Revised plans for a scheme of 70 flats at Vicar Street were approved in February last and I understand that working drawings and bills of quantities are now in course of preparation. I am informed also that plans for a scheme of 180 flats at Bridgefoot Street are at present under consideration by the technical officers of the corporation.

A proposal of the corporation to accept a tender for the erection of 42 flat-dwellings at Hogan Place was submitted to the Department yesterday and is being examined.

I am not aware of any vacant site at City Quay which is in the possession of the corporation.
