asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the nominal value of British Government securities held on 31st March, 1954, 1955 and 1956 by (a) the Post Office Savings Bank, (b) the Social Insurance Fund, (c) the Irish Land Commission, (d) the Commissioners of Charitable Donations and Bequests, (e) the Supreme Court and High Court of Justice, (f) the Public Trustees, and (g) the Department of Education.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to have it circulated in the Official Report.

The figures given for the Irish Land Commission include British securities of the nominal value of £239,992 held in the name of the Land Commission for the Church Temporalities Account which is under the control of the Minister for Finance.
