Vol. 160 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Manufacture of F.C.A. Uniforms.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs whether trade union conditions are observed in the manufacture of F.C.A. uniforms.

Contracts for the manufacture of F.C.A. uniforms include a condition that contractors shall observe rates of wages and hours of work not less favourable than those commonly recognised by employers and trade societies in the district where the work is carried out. I have no reason to believe that this condition is not being observed.

Is the Minister aware that over 100 workers engaged in the manufacture of F.C.A. uniforms have been notified that their terms of contract will cease to-morrow?

That is an entirely different matter.
