Vol. 160 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Laytown New School.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state the present position in regard to the proposal to erect a new national school at Laytown, County Meath.

A site has been offered by the Reverend Manager for a new national school at Laytown, County Meath, for senior girls and infant boys and girls, and my Department awaits a report from the Commissioners of Public Works as to the suitability of the site. It is hoped that this report will be available shortly.

Will the Minister say what provision is being made for boys and for girls in the proposed new building?

The new school will be for girls and infant boys and girls. It will accommodate about 120 in three rooms. The present school, which will be vacated, will be kept for boys. I think that is a two-roomed school which will accommodate about 80 boys.

Another castle in the air, because that school will never be built. We have experience of it.

You need not worry about it.

He will have to worry about it because he will be over there. You may not be here at all, my good man.
