Vol. 160 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Acquisition of Land for Dublin Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government when his decision will be conveyed to the Dublin County Council as a result of the sworn inquiry held on 26th April last in connection with the acquisition of land in Dundrum, County Dublin, for the purpose of erecting houses for the working classes; if he is aware that the long delay is causing anxiety to all concerned, and, if so, if he will expedite the matter.

I am not yet in a position to state when my decision on the order made by Dublin County Council for the compulsory acquisition of land at Dundrum for the erection of houses will be conveyed to the council. I have only recently received the report and recommendations of the inspector who held the public local inquiry. The report gives particulars of a number of objections, some on legal grounds, to the council's order and the examination of these objections is proceeding as expeditiously as possible.
