Vol. 160 No. 16

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Cork Corporation Housing.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will take steps to see that Cork Corporation housing proposals at present before his Department are dealt with in such a manner as to ensure continuity of employment in the corporation's direct labour unit.

There are no housing proposals by the Cork Corporation before the Department at present which would affect the continuity of employment on their direct labour unit.

Is the Minister aware that a scheme of direct labour building for Casey's Cross has been with his Department since 21st June last? How then could he say there is no direct labour scheme before his Department?

I did not say there were no schemes before the Department. What I did say was that there were no direct labour housing proposals which would affect the continuity of employment.

There is a plan for Casey's Cross with the Department since 21st June.

These plans are under examination.

Since June 21st?
