As I indicated in the course of the debate last week on the Estimate for Public Works and Buildings, the engineering reports on the proposal for a scheme under the Arterial Drainage Act, 1945, for the River Maine are still under examination. Pending consideration of these reports and, subsequently, compliance with the statutory requirements in regard to exhibition and confirmation, I am not in a position to say when works may be commenced.
