Vol. 164 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Leinster House Decoration.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state (a) the name of the contractor responsible for redecorating Leinster House, (b) whether he was appointed after public invitation of tenders, and (c) the dates of issue and the names of the papers in which tenders were invited.

asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the cost of the work carried out in Leinster House during the summer recess.

I propose, with the permission of An Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 33 and 34 together.

The recent redecoration of part of the interior of Leinster House was carried out by Messrs. Thomas Dockrell, Sons & Co. Ltd., South Great George's Street, Dublin, under a general contract for which tenders were invited by advertisement in the three Dublin morning newspapers of the 5th March, 1957.

External painting is being done by Messrs. Spray Painters Ltd., Capel Street, Dublin, under a contract for which tenders were invited by advertisement in the three Dublin morning newspapers of the 24th June, 1957.

The cost of all the work carried out during the summer recess was approximately £2,200.

Has the Deputy any supplementary question? What about Lincoln and Nolan?
