The latest date for which the information required by the Deputy is available is 31st December, 1957. Up to that date medical cards had been issued in respect of 20,419 persons (including dependents) in County Kildare, representing 30.98 per cent. of the population of the county.
The total number of medical cards issued was 5,833 and the number of applications rejected was 898.
