Vol. 165 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Cheap Fuel Scheme.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he is aware that the Dublin Board of Assistance have amended the cheap fuel scheme, inasmuch as no household may receive more than one hundredweight of turf per week; and if he will take steps to ensure that the board will revert to the former practice of granting one hundredweight of fuel to each old age pensioner.

I am not aware that the Dublin Board of Assistance has amended the provisions of the cheap fuel scheme. A basic provision of the scheme since its inception has been that not more than one hundredweight of fuel shall be issued per week to each household.
