Vol. 171 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Dublin Forestry Bonuses.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state separately in respect of each month during which the forestry bonus scheme was in operation in the County Dublin forests the average weekly bonuses paid for a 48-hour week.

The average weekly bonus earnings of each labourer at the County Dublin forests for each month of this year since the Incentive Bonus Scheme was introduced at the forests were as follows: May, 10/11; June, 13/3; July, 16/3; August, 9/7; September, 20/3; and October, 15/10.

I should point out that the bonus earned is related to actual time worked. Full attendance by forestry workers is the exception rather than the rule. The figures I have quoted relate to actual attendance and not to equivalent earnings for a full week.
