Vol. 171 No. 12

Business of the Dáil.

Before we proceed to the Bill, may I ask the Tánaiste would the Government, in view of the fact that we are likely to rise next week, consider giving time for the discussion of motion No. 4, standing in the name of Deputy McQuillan and in my name, concerning the position of the Taoiseach in the Irish Press?

It will come up in the ordinary course in Private Members' time.

Could the Tánaiste let the House know whether or not Private Members' time will be available in the session immediately after Christmas?

It usually is.

We can take it that will be the position? There will be no changes?

It would be most unusual to interfere with Private Members' time until such time as the financial business for the year begins.

Until, in fact, the Book of Estimates is published.
